Natural gas is transported most often by pipeline. When pipelines are not possible, the gas is shipped in a liquid form. When it reaches its destination, its changed back to a gaseous state. Initially, natural gas is colorless and odorless. The “rotten egg” smell is an additive from the electric company to help detect possible gas leaks.
