Cranberries were first used for medical purposes. Native Americans collected the berry and used them for healing wounds and dying clothes. Now the tarty fruit is a traditional Thanksgiving side dish, and is primarily grown in Wisconsin Massachusetts, New Jersey, Washington, and Oregon.
