Street art is not the same as graffiti. Each uses a different kind of medium to express their artistic vision. While both often use public spaces as their canvas, graffiti artists typically use spray paint and street artists often use a wheat paste adhesive. This adhesive is made up of flour, water, and glue and is used to seal a piece of art to a wall or building.
