It is a sad truth that a number of the most endangered animals are not protected under any laws. In the U.S. alone, for every one species that is protected under the Endangered Species Act, there are 10 or more endangered animals that live without protection. Clearly, if no action is taken, we are on course to losing a great deal of our precious wildlife.
