Though Victor Fleming is given credit onscreen, The Wizard of Oz had four (yes, you read that right, four) different directors! Richard Thorpe was fired after less than two weeks of filming. Finally, King Vidor completed the movie, shooting most of the sepia-toned Kansas scenes and Judy Garland singing Over the Rainbow.
